Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a BSL Teaching Assistant in Grantham to support students with communication needs. The role starts in September and is full-time on a temporary basis, with potential extension for the right candidate.

You will provide targeted classroom support using British Sign Language to enhance communication, engagement and access to learning for identified students. The school offers a supportive environment and opportunities for CPD and progression.

Qualifications

• A minimum Level 2 qualification in British Sign Language / BSL.
• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children and young people in an educational setting.
• Confidence supporting individual students within the classroom.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient and adaptable approach.
• A ‘can-do’ attitude with a willingness to support students throughout the school day.
