Job summary

Choice Teachers are recruiting a BSL Teaching Assistant for a large secondary school in Greenwich. The role focuses on supporting students who require British Sign Language (BSL) to access lessons and participate fully in school life.

The ideal candidate holds a BSL Level 2 qualification and can evidence it. This full-time, long-term position offers a potential permanent placement and immediate start in an inclusive education setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum BSL Level 2 qualification and evidence required.
• Experience supporting students who use BSL is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple students who use British Sign Language in mainstream lessons.
• Provide real-time communication support to help understanding instructions and content.
• Assist students with accessing curriculum and class activities.
• Deliver 1:1 and small-group support where needed.
• Collaborate with teachers and other support staff.
• Help create an inclusive learning environment and promote independence.
