Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a BSL Teaching Assistant in Grantham to support students with communication needs. This full-time, temporary role starts in September for the first term, with potential extension for the right candidate.

You will provide targeted classroom support using BSL to enhance engagement and access to learning for individual students, within a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 qualification in British Sign Language (BSL).
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or supporting students in education.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; patient and adaptable.
• Commitment to helping students access learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted classroom support to students using BSL.
• Support communication, engagement and access to learning.
• Work within a team to assist classroom delivery.
