Job summary
Derby College is seeking a Communications Support Worker to join the Deaf Access Team. You will provide sign language support and notetaking to deaf learners, helping them access college life and learning.
The role requires Level 2 BSL and Level 2 English/Maths, with potential Level 3 Communication Support qualifications. You will work collaboratively within a supportive team to promote inclusion and equal opportunities.
Qualifications
- Must have British Sign Language Level 2 minimum.
- Experience supporting deaf learners in education helpful.
- Knowledge of Equality Act 2010 and inclusive practices essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide sign support and notetaking to deaf learners.
- Support inclusion of deaf students in college life and activities.
- Collaborate with Deaf Access Team to plan learner support.
