Job summary

The Teaching Assistant role in Liverpool offers 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN, using Level 2 British Sign Language to aid communication and learning. You’ll work inside and outside the classroom, adapting activities to individual needs and promoting independence.

Join a supportive SEN school team, collaborating with teachers, therapists and other staff to foster a safe, inclusive environment and support the pupil’s emotional wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Level 2 British Sign Language (BSL) qualification.
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND, or a strong interest in doing so.
• Patience, compassion and resilience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt approach to individual pupil needs.

Are you a caring, patient and enthusiastic individual with Level 2 British Sign Language (BSL)?

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and inclusive Special Educational Needs (SEN) School. This role will involve providing 1:1 support to a pupil, helping them to access learning, develop communication skills and reach their full potential.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Can adapt their approach to meet the individual needs of pupils.
• Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Is committed to promoting inclusion, independence and positive outcomes for every pupil.
