Job summary

XYZ Inc is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Team Manager to lead production operations at our Bristol site. You will oversee one to two lines on a two-shift pattern, managing a team of 30–60 operatives and coordinating with Engineering, Quality, and site planning to meet KPIs.

The role requires strong lean manufacturing knowledge (5S, Kaizen, OEE) and a track record of delivering production targets, safety, and people management in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in manufacturing with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Experience leading teams of 20+ in a fast-paced, multi-shift production setting.
• Practical working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles — 5S, Kaizen, OEE measurement, and waste reduction.

Responsibilities

• Take day-to-day operational responsibility for 1–2 production lines across a two-shift pattern.
• Lead a team of 30–60 operatives per shift and drive KPI performance (OEE, waste, labour efficiency, safety).
• Drive continuous improvement using lean methods including 5S, Kaizen, and changeover reduction techniques.
• Ensure safety compliance and conduct regular safety tours and toolbox talks.
• Coordinate production scheduling with site planning and support NPI line trials.
• Conduct performance reviews and day-to-day people management for your team.
• Escalate maintenance and quality issues and lead root cause analysis.
