Job summary

TT Electronics Barnstaple site is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Lead to run the Assembly area, optimise line performance and drive safe, efficient operations.

You will supervise direct reports, champion lean improvements, ensure trained operators, and work with the Production Manager to meet KPI targets and budgets. We offer a 4-day week and a range of benefits including pension and health plans.

Responsibilities

• Manage safe and effective use of people and equipment to meet the plan.
• Provide hands-on manufacturing support on the line.
• Lead the team to achieve KPIs and budgets with process adherence.
• Support capacity and labour planning to promote lean flow.
• Ensure processes operated by trained personnel per work instructions.
• Maintain live KPI displays and monitor performance.
• Drive continuous improvement with lean activities and lean principles.
• Ensure policy compliance; mentor teams and review performance.
• Capable of stopping production to protect quality when needed.
• Conduct quality clinics to root cause issues and drive improvements.
• Interact with internal customers and stakeholders at all levels.
• Cover Production Manager during absence when required.
• Travel may be required to support business needs.
• Undertake other duties as the company may reasonably require.
