Job summary

AECOM is seeking a civil/structural engineering student for a placement in the Bridge Structures team in the UK. You'll produce CAD drawings, support design tasks, and assist with documentation as part of a multidisciplinary project delivery workflow.

The role includes site visits, learning from engineers, and applying health and safety and sustainability principles while developing practical engineering skills within a global infrastructure firm.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with a 2:1 or higher.
• Interest in bridge structures.
• Exposure to an engineering environment desirable.
• Interest in CAD and 3D modelling software.
• Strong communication and detail orientation.
• Willingness to travel for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Producing CAD drawings and supporting structural design tasks.
• Assisting with project administration, record-keeping, and documentation.
• Reviewing and analysing technical data to inform decisions.
• Contributing to problem-solving and developing design solutions under supervision.
• Participating in site visits to gather information and observe conditions.
• Collaborating with engineers across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
• Applying health and safety practices on site and in the office, with sustainability considerations.
