Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd is seeking a Bridge Inspector to perform inspections in Preston. The role is full-time on a temporary basis with a pay rate of £16.90 per hour.

You will assess structures to CS450 standards, identify defects and maintenance needs, and generate detailed reports with photographic evidence and recommendations for remedial work. Responsibilities include updating asset records, using GIS to map structures, coordinating with engineers and contractors, and managing inspection

Responsibilities

• Undertake bridge and structural inspections in accordance with the BICS Lantra Bridge Inspector Certification Scheme or ADEPT‑approved equivalent, ensuring all activities meet required professional and technical standards.
• Assess structures to CS450 requirements, including identifying defects, deterioration, risks, and maintenance needs, and recording findings accurately.
• Produce clear, comprehensive inspection reports, including photographic evidence, condition ratings, and recommendations for remedial works or further investigation.
• Update and maintain asset records using asset management software, ensuring data integrity and compliance with internal processes.
• Use GIS mapping systems to locate, record, and update structure information and inspection outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to support planned maintenance, structural assessments, and emergency response activities.
• Manage inspection schedules effectively, demonstrating strong time management to meet statutory and operational deadlines.
• Drive to inspection sites across the region, including remote or difficult‑access locations, adhering to all safety protocols.
