Job summary

Bridge Engineer role in Leeds within a leading multidisciplinary civil and structural engineering consultancy. The position offers exposure to major UK and Irish infrastructure projects, spanning design, assessment, inspection, strengthening and refurbishment of bridges.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Around 3+ years’ relevant experience in bridge engineering or civil structures.
• Experience in the design and/or assessment of bridge structures.
• Good knowledge of UK bridge design standards, codes and engineering principles.
• Experience working through key design stages from concept through to detailed design.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and technical delivery of bridge and civil structures projects.
• Undertake structural analysis, calculations and design assessments.
• Develop structural models and interpret analysis results.
• Produce and coordinate engineering drawings and technical information.
• Contribute to feasibility studies, optioneering and scheme development.
• Undertaking site inspections and supporting bridge assessments where required.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications and contract documentation.
• Support construction-stage activities and respond to technical queries.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and budget.
• Attend client, contractor and stakeholder meetings.
• Mentor graduate engineers as experience develops.
