You will lead bridge and civil structures projects across highways, transport and rail, guiding schemes from concept through detailed design to completion. The role offers hybrid working, a £50,000–£60,000 salary, 25 days leave, paid overtime, and ongoing training with clear progression.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Significant bridge engineering experience including design and assessment.
• Knowledge of DMRB, Eurocodes and MCHW.
• Experience producing and checking technical calculations, reports and design deliverables.
• Chartered status or progression towards chartership advantageous.

The Opportunity

We are currently partnering with a well-established engineering consultancy to recruit an experienced Senior Bridge Engineer for their Liverpool office. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected infrastructure design team delivering a diverse portfolio of bridge and structural engineering projects across highways, transport and rail sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading schemes from initial concept through to detailed design and project completion while supporting the development of junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of bridge and civil structures projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Undertake and review structural calculations, technical reports, drawings and specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes and client requirements.
• Carry out bridge inspections, assessments and technical evaluations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and contractors.

About You
