Job summary

American Society of Civil Engineers in Liverpool is seeking an experienced Senior Bridge Engineer to lead bridge and civil structures projects from concept to detailed design. You’ll oversee technical work, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and ensure high-quality deliverables.

You will review calculations, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with DMRB and Eurocodes. The role includes mentoring junior engineers and supporting client engagements.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Significant bridge engineering experience including design and assessment.
• Strong understanding of DMRB, Eurocodes and MCHW.
• Experience producing and checking technical calculations, reports and design deliverables.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Chartered status or progression towards chartership would be advantageous.

The Opportunity

We are currently partnering with a well-established engineering consultancy to recruit an experienced Senior Bridge Engineer for their Liverpool office. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected infrastructure design team delivering a diverse portfolio of bridge and structural engineering projects across highways, transport and rail sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading schemes from initial concept through to detailed design and project completion while supporting the development of junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities
