Job summary

Hampshire County Council's Structures Design Team is seeking a Project Engineer to lead the design and project management of complex bridge maintenance, strengthening and replacement schemes. You will work within an in-house engineering services group delivering end-to-end design from concept to site supervision.

You should have extensive post-graduate experience with bridges and highway structures, preferably Chartered status, and a strong knowledge of Eurocodes.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate experience in design and construction of bridges and highway structures.
• Chartered civil or structural engineer preferred.
• Experience mentoring junior staff is advantageous.
• Excellent knowledge of Eurocodes, construction methods and contract procedures.

Responsibilities

• Project management and design of bridge maintenance, strengthening and replacement schemes.
• Inspect and assess bridges and other highway structures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
• Lead design checks and ensure compliance with standards.
