Job summary

Hampshire County Council’s Structures Design Teams require a highly motivated Structural/Bridge Engineer to lead design and project delivery for complex highway structures. You will inspect, design and manage schemes from feasibility through to implementation, coordinating with senior engineers and stakeholders to meet standards.

Qualifications

• Team player with strong collaborative skills.
• Good understanding of Eurocodes, design standards, construction methods and contract procedures.
• Experience in highway structures design and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and management of bridge replacement, strengthening and maintenance schemes.
• Inspect and assess current bridges and other highway structures.
• Prepare contract documents and preliminary estimates for proposed schemes.
• Train, develop and oversee Technicians to ensure quality and consistency.
• Promote a positive image of the County Council and Directorate.
