Job summary

LTE Group's prison education provider Novus is recruiting a Bricklaying Teacher for HMP Deerbolt near Barnard Castle. This permanent, full-time role covers 37 hours per week and requires delivering and assessing up to Level 2 Bricklaying.

The successful candidate will join a national education program, benefit from pension contributions and a generous leave package, and engage with learners to support reintegration through practical trades training.

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
• Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy

We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Deerbolt, working as a Bricklaying Teacher. This role is offered on a permanent, full time basis, working 37 hours per week. The successful candidate will be expected be able to deliver and assess up to level 2 in Bricklaying.

Site Information

HMP Deerbolt is a Category C , Training Prison for Adult Males located near Barnard Castle, County Durham. The prison provides educational programs, vocational training, workshops, healthcare services, and sports facilities. These initiatives are geared towards equipping inmates with skills and support for reintegration into society.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

• Teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
• Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
• Creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
• Achievement of quality targets
