Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking an experienced administrator to manage clerical processes for Breast Assessment Clinics.

You will coordinate Clinic Co-ordinators, support multidisciplinary teams, and ensure timely clinical correspondence and data handling using NHS systems.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Accurate and concise keyboard skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate clerical procedures for Breast Assessment Clinics.
  • Ensure Clinic Co-ordinators are briefed for clinics.
  • Lead the Assessment team and ensure training and competence.
  • Participate in Breast MDTs and prepare results notes.
  • Ensure NHSBSP quality and performance targets for correspondence.
  • Input and retrieve patient information using Infoflex and track 62 Cancer pathway.
  • Manage clinical correspondence to GPs within 24 hours.
  • Maintain data collection from multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide medical records for consultants using Track It.

Job description

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  • Provide effective management, administration and co-ordination of all clerical procedures concerning Breast Assessment Clinics in accordance with National Quality Assurance Guidelines. Ensuring Clinic Co-ordinators are fully briefed and prepared for all Breast Screening Assessment Clinics.
  • Oversee and lead the Assessment team ensuring all staff are fully trained and competent to prepare and sit the clinics.
  • Attendance and participation at Breast MDTs. Collation of results and notes in preparation for client's attending Breast Screening Results Clinics.
  • Ensure that all clinical correspondence meets NHSBSP quality and performance targets.
  • To be responsible for clinical reports and discharge letters prioritising the workload according to agreed protocols.
  • To provide correct inputting and retrieval of patient information using Infoflex and observing the 62 Cancer pathway.
  • To ensure that clinical correspondence to GPs recording the outcome of patient's attendance meets the 24 hour performance target.
  • Personal capacity to organise and maintain data collection and collation from widespread multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide medical records required by Consultants for follow-up using the Track it system.

Essential criteria
  • Math and English G.C.S.E Grade or equivalent
  • Accurate and concise keyboard skills

  • European Computer Driving Licence
  • RSA I / II
  • NVQ 3 Qualification or equivalent
Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years within an Admin role
  • Experience of working with and complying to national initiatives and targets
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Recent and comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Experience of data collection and audit
  • Knowledge of Breast Screening Computer System
  • Knowledge of Somerset, I Lab, Nerve Centre, CRIS and HISS

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

Please note if you are successful in obtaining this position and the post involves regulated activity you will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service check.

The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment.

The current price of a check is £38 for an enhanced and £18 for a standard check.
