Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust requires a clinician to supervise Foundation doctors in the TTP inpatient service, liaising with nurses, doctors, patients and families. You will attend ward rounds and outpatient clinics, contribute to education, and help develop resources across the TTP network.

Engagement in research and audit, leadership in multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with local policies are expected as part of a busy academic clinical service in Leicester.

Qualifications

  • MB BS or equivalent is required.
  • Full GMC registration with licence to practise is essential.
  • MRCP (UK) or equivalent is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and assist Foundation doctors in day-to-day inpatient management.
  • Liaise with nurses, doctors, patients and relatives regarding TTP patients.
  • Attend ward rounds and outpatient clinics focusing on H&T/TTP.
  • Attend weekly educational and multidisciplinary sessions and contribute to education.

Job description

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  1. Supervise, monitor and assist the Foundation doctors (F1/2) in the day-to-day management of TTP inpatients
  2. Liaise with nurses, doctors, patients, relatives and senior medical staff regarding TTP patients
  3. Attend and participate in ward rounds as timetabled
  4. Attend and participate in outpatient clinics, focusing on H&T/TTP
  5. Attend weekly educational and multidisciplinary sessions
  6. Supporting delivery of educational sessions relevant to TTP
  7. Design and deliver educational resources relevant to TTP across the TTP network
  8. Design and deliver outreach services relevant to TTP across the TTP network
  9. Co-operate with members of the personnel department when monitoring hours of work and other personnel issues
  10. Support H&T research activity
  11. Attend induction in each hospital or new department
  12. Comply with all local policies including dress code, annual and study leave

Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
  • MB BS or equivalent
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
  • MRCP (UK) or equivalent

Experience

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

Please note if you are successful in obtaining this position and the post involves regulated activity you will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service check.

The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment.

The current price of a check is £38 for an enhanced and £18 for a standard check.
