St Ermin’s Hotel in London is seeking a passionate Commis Chef for the breakfast shift (5am-1:30pm), working 5 days a week. The hotel is renowned for offering a London living wage and a supportive, health-focused workplace, recognised among the best places to work in hospitality.

You will prepare dishes on your section following recipes, support senior chefs, and help maintain a clean, well-organised kitchen while upholding safety and hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Basic cooking techniques and ability to follow listed cooking methods.
• Familiarity with general kitchen hygiene practices.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions from senior chefs.

Responsibilities

• Have basic knowledge of all listed cooking techniques.
• Follow instructions from senior chefs.
• Ensure correct portion control and plating standards.
• Keep your section clean and tidy, including fridges and work tops.
• Maintain equipment and liaise with Maintenance as needed.
• Report spillages and keep kitchen orderly.
• Ensure all labels are dated on prepared food items.
• Complete basic food hygiene training within one month.
• Adhere to Health and Safety and Food Hygiene policies.
