Job summary

At Sloane in London is seeking a Commis Chef to join our pre-opening kitchen team. You will help prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner, ensure mise en place, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

We value prior experience in a luxury hotel, a culinary qualification, and a good command of English. A flexible, team-oriented approach is essential to support a boutique, five-star dining environment.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as Commis Chef in a luxury hotel.
• Food Safety and Culinary qualification or equivalent.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Able to work well in a small team and take ownership of their section.
• Flexible working pattern to fit business needs; pre-opening experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order, cleanliness and health and safety during shifts.
• Prepare dishes for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner service as instructed.
• Efficiently handle in-room dining orders and ensure timely delivery to staff.
• Maintain correct portion control and ample Mise en place for service.
• Follow recipes, preparation methods and presentation guidelines; label, date and rotate foods.
• Monitor deliveries, note quantities, prices and address discrepancies; keep preparation areas clean.
