Job summary

Carmarthenshire County Council in Llanelli is seeking a friendly Breakfast Club Assistant to help prepare and serve a nutritious breakfast.

You will keep the food preparation area clean, assist with dining room duties, set up and clear tables, and support the team in a busy school environment. Welsh speakers welcome.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills and the ability to work well with adults and children.
• Knowledge of basic Food Safety and Health and Safety as a potential advantage.
• Welsh language level 2 required with support to reach proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Keep the food preparation area clean before serving breakfast.
• Assist with general kitchen and dining room duties, including setting up and clearing tables.
• Carry out general cleaning duties and help the team in a busy breakfast service.

Job description

We are looking for a fun, caring breakfast assistant to join our Breakfast Club, they will be responsible for ensuring that our food preparation area is clean prior to preparing and serving a nutritious breakfast. Other duties will include general kitchen and dining room duties, such as the setting up and clearing away of tables, general cleaning duties.

• The ability to build good relationships with adults and children based on mutual respect.
• Knowledge of basic Food Safety and Health and Safety. This would be an advantage, but is not essential as full training will be provided.
• Good communication and people skills.
• The ability to work on their own and as part of a team.
• A positive attitude and the willingness to learn new skills., An Enhanced with Barred List Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be requested for this job. It is an offence to apply for the role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children or adults at risk
• Welsh language level - verbal Level 2 - You will need a basic level of conversational Welsh. Reasonable support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
