Job summary

Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking a reliable Breakfast Supervisor to oversee pupils on arrival and during service, with duties including serving refreshments and general dining room tasks. The role requires DBS clearance and the ability to work as part of a team.

A basic level of conversational Welsh (Level 2) is expected, with full training provided where needed. This post is for part-time hours during term time, with pay structured accordingly.

Qualifications

• Experience of supervising children is advantageous but not essential.
• Knowledge of basic food safety is advantageous but not essential; training provided.
• Enhanced DBS check will be requested for this role.
• Welsh language level: verbal Level 2; basic conversational Welsh required.

Job description

We are looking for a reliable and dedicated Breakfast Supervisor to supervise pupils on arrival and during service. You may also be required to assist with the serving of refreshments and undertake general dining room duties to include clearing and wiping down of tables.

• The ability to build good relationships with adults and children based on mutual respect.
• Experience of supervising children. This would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Knowledge of basic food safety. This would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be given.
• Good communication and people skills.
• The ability to work as part of a team.
• A positive attitude and the willingness to learn new skills., An Enhanced with Barred List Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be requested for this job. It is an offence to apply for the role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children or adults at risk

Welsh language level - verbal Level 2 - You will need a basic level of conversational Welsh. Reasonable support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.

This post is for 3.75 hours per week / 45 minutes per day. Hourly rate is £13.16. Our working hours are Monday to Friday before 9am, term time only (38 weeks), ideal to fit around family commitments / the school day. We offer an 'annualised' pay scheme so that our staff who work term time receive pay over 52 weeks.,
