Contract: Permanent, 4 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

Working Pattern: Monday 07:30 - 08:30, Wednesday 15:30 - 17:00, Friday 15:30 - 17:00

Salary (Actual): ALT Grade C -£2,333.71 to £2,351.78

We are looking for a caring and dependable BASC Assistant to support the breakfast and after‑school club at Cromwell Community College in Chatteris. Working with children across the College community, the role centres on providing attentive supervision, encouraging positive play and participation, and helping the club run smoothly. We are looking for someone who communicates warmly with pupils, manages behaviour calmly and consistently, and takes a practical approach to children's individual needs. With safeguarding and wellbeing at its heart, this is a hands‑on opportunity to become part of a supportive team and make a valued contribution to children's daily experience of school.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils throughout breakfast and after‑school club sessions, maintaining a safe, orderly and welcoming environment.
• Encourage participation in activities and support positive behaviour, play and relationships.
• Safeguard pupils' health and welfare, reporting concerns or incidents promptly and following academy policies.
• Assist children with food, hygiene, dressing and other individual needs while encouraging independence.
• Prepare, clear away and safely store dining furniture, activity resources and club equipment

All appointments will be subject to pre‑employment checks including the taking of satisfactory references and enhanced criminal record clearance in line with the need to create and maintain a safe culture.
