Job summary

Hough Green Garage is recruiting a Breakdown & Recovery Co-ordinator to join our 24-hour Control Centre in Widnes. The role focuses on calm, confident decision-making during time-critical and emergency calls, deploying recovery operators, and ensuring efficient job completion.

You will interact daily with the public, emergency services, motoring organisations, and roadside teams, coordinating resources and maintaining service levels.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deploy recovery resources efficiently across all active jobs.
• Monitor job progress through to completion.
• Manage driver workloads and map nearest available resources.
• Answer and manage high-volume inbound and outbound calls.
• Liaise with administrative staff and recovery teams.
• Raise workload issues or operational concerns with management.
• Provide training and support to colleagues as required.
• Handle customer enquiries professionally in person and by phone.
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliant handling of personal data (GDPR).
• Conduct property searches with integrity and confidentiality.

Salary: From £13.00 per hour (dependent on shift & experience)

Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 2 days off – 12-hour shifts (day & night shifts available)

We support Local Authorities, Blue Light Emergency Services, major Motoring Organisations, and private companies nationwide. Due to continued growth and new contract awards, we are expanding our Control Centre team in Widnes.

The Role
