Job summary

Air Liquide is seeking a Branch Operations Manager for the Manchester site. You will lead daily branch operations, drive profitability, uphold safety standards, and oversee a high-performing team to deliver exceptional customer service.

You will work closely with Sales to meet targets, manage stock and purchasing, and ensure smooth vehicle operations and compliance with transport regulations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in leading and coaching others in a management or supervisory position.
• Strong experience in distribution planning and order scheduling.
• A working knowledge of the health and safety requirements of the HASAW Act.
• Knowledge of engineering and welding processes and requirements is advantageous but not essential as full training will be given.
• Knowledge of ISO9002 is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
• Demonstrated ability of working within a fast paced environment, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
• A full, clean driving licence.
• Forklift licence is desirable but not essential.
• Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems.
• Good telephone manner.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate daily branch operations and sales activities.
• Drive branch profitability, maintain safety standards and deliver customer service.
• Lead a high-performing team and develop a collaborative ‘One Team’ culture.
• Work with Sales to achieve company sales and profit targets.
• Coordinate purchasing and stock control systems and ensure accurate stock counts.
• Oversee delivery vehicles and road safety and load security.
• Record KPIs and branch-related metrics.
• Monitor cash handling and ensure cash book balances.
• Ensure compliance with road transport legislation and related processes.
