LBS Builders Merchants Ltd in Pembroke Dock is seeking a motivated Branch Assistant to support daily branch operations and deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced trade environment.

You will greet customers, handle stock, assist with deliveries, process sales and cash transactions, and help maintain safety and stock accuracy on site. This is a hands-on role in a busy retail setting with opportunities for progression.

Branch Assistant

Location: Pembroke Dock

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Branch Assistant to join our busy branch team. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced trade and retail environment, supporting daily branch operations while delivering outstanding customer service.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Branch Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the branch. You will support customers, manage stock, assist with deliveries, and help maintain high operational and safety standards across the site.

Key Responsibilities willinclude –

• Greet and acknowledge customers promptly
• Serve customers efficiently both face-to-face and over the telephone
• Resolve customer queries effectively
• Assist customers with loading purchases where appropriate
• Accurately pick materials for deliveries, collections, and stock transfers
• Identify and report faulty or damaged goods
• Assist drivers with loading company vehicles
• Check materials for quality and quantity
• Operate fork trucks safely (where trained and certified)
• Support stock accuracy and inventory management
• Assist with weekly and annual stock takes
• Support merchandising and store layout changes
• Promote and sell products to maximise margins and profitability
• Process sales and credit transactions accurately
• Take responsibility for cash and account transactions
• Forward sales leads to relevant team members

• A proactive, team-oriented approach
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work in a physically active role
• Forklift certification (desirable but not essential)
• A reliable and flexible attitude

Hours of work:An average of 40.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 7.30am – 5.00pm, plus every other Saturday morning from 8.00am until 12.00pm.
