Job summary

Prodrive Recruitment Consultants Ltd is seeking a Brake Press/Machine Operator in Pershore to fabricate metal parts to specification. You will set up and run Amada brake presses, perform laser-related setup, interpret drawings, and inspect parts for quality.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year on a brake press and 2 years on laser machining, with strong numeracy and precision, plus good teamwork and problem-solving abilities. Temporary to permanent role, 14.75 GBP/hr DOE, on-site hours.

Qualifications

• Brake Press (Amada) experience with min 1 year.
• Laser machine setting/operation experience min 2 years.
• Able to read technical drawings and work instructions.
• Good numeracy for measurements and adjustments.
• Able to use tapes, verniers, micrometers and similar gauges.

Brake Press/Machine Operator

Prodrive Recruitment Consultants Ltd are seeking an experienced Brake Press/Laser Operator for our well-established clients based in Pershore, leading manufacturers to the defence and transport sectors. Your expertise will ensure precise fabrication of parts according to specifications, supporting the production of high-quality metal assemblies and maintaining safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience with fabrication processes.

Main Responsibilities

• Set up and operate brake press machines (Amada) to produce parts and metal components accurately
• Adjust and verify accuracy of machine settings to confirm tolerances and machine functions to accommodate different materials and project requirements
• Able to interpret technical drawings and work instructions
• Inspect finished parts for quality, ensuring they meet design specifications and tolerances
• Use hand tools and tooling to assist in fabrication, assembly, or finishing tasks
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience operating a Brake Press (Amada) - minimum 1 year
• A minimum of 2 years experience setting and operating a Laser machine
• Understanding of mechanical production techniques and able to read technical drawings
• Good numeracy skills for calculation of measurements and adjustments
• Able to use accurately: tape measure, verniers, micrometre and other go/no-go gauges
• Pays attention to detail and to quality standards
• Able to problem solve and an ability to work as part of a team
• A quick learner
• Flexible team player

Salary up to £14.75 p/hr DOE + Company Benefits

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 07:45 - 17:15, Friday 07:45 - 13:00 (Early Finish)

Temporary to Permanent Contract.
