Job summary

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, within Adult Social Care, is seeking an experienced Social Care Co‑ordinator to support the Joint Equipment Stores service and help residents stay safe and independent at home. You will lead frontline staff, supervise performance, manage HR processes, drive service improvements and ensure safeguarding and high standards of delivery.

A driving licence is required to travel across the borough and work weekends on a rota.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in relevant field.
• At least two years' relevant experience in Adult Social Care, health, prevention services or related environment.
• At least one year's experience supervising or managing staff, performance and service delivery.
• Experience of improving services and the customer experience.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, relevant legislation, assessment frameworks and service delivery within Adult Social Care.
• Strong leadership, communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Commitment to person‑centred practice and achieving excellent outcomes for vulnerable adults.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and motivate frontline staff to maintain high standards.
• Manage HR processes including recruitment, attendance, capability, disciplinary and grievances.
• Monitor performance and ensure compliance with safeguarding and quality standards.
• Promote person-centred practice and positive outcomes for vulnerable adults.
• Respond professionally to complaints and enquiries with clear communication.
