Job summary

Bond and Excise Compliance Manager role in Hampshire is to own excise compliance within the bonded warehouse, maintain HMRC relationships, oversee EMCS movements, and ensure accurate duty calculations for wines and spirits. You will ensure stock records are reconciled and lead process improvements across audits and visits.

Based on site, Mon–Fri, with salary £52,000–£58,000 per year, DOE, plus benefits. The role is commutable from Southampton, Portsmouth, Winchester and surrounding towns, and

Qualifications

• Experience in an HMRC-approved excise (bonded) warehouse in the UK.
• Personal responsibility for duty-suspended stock records and reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience of EMCS movements and excise returns and alcohol duty payments.
• Working knowledge of Excise Notice 197 and warehousekeeper obligations.
• Understanding of how alcohol duty is calculated on wines and spirits by strength.

Responsibilities

• Own excise compliance for the bond and HMRC relationships, including visits and audits.
• Ensure accurate duty pay, stock records, and timely EMCS movements.
• Lead and develop a team of two and onboard third-party bonded customers.
• Oversee export/import requirements and Incoterms in a clear, commercial manner.
