Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is seeking an experienced Bodyshop Manager at East of England Showground, Peterborough to lead all bodyshop operations for Finished Vehicle Solutions. You will oversee prep, paint, panel and SMART repairs, ensuring safe, compliant and high-quality output.

Ideal candidates will have automotive bodyshop experience, supervisory track record, and a solid understanding of parts ordering, stock control, and health & safety. Full driving license required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in automotive or bodyshop repair environment is essential.
• Experience in roles such as Workshop Controller/Manager, Transport Supervisor, Operations Manager, or similar is highly desirable.
• Qualification in Motor Vehicle Technology, Body Repair, Paint, or similar discipline would be desirable.
• Good stakeholder management and customer management skills.
• Excellent communication skills - Verbal and written.
• Experience in fast paced environment with ability to meet SOPs and standards while delivering quality work.
• Good understanding of parts ordering processes and stock control.
• Full driving license is essential.

• Lead and manage all bodyshop operations, including prep, paint, panel, and SMART repair activities
• Monitor and manage service quality, ensuring compliance with DHL standards, customer requirements, and transport regulations
• Manage workflow, prioritisation, and turnaround times to meet operational targets
• Oversee warranty procedures and ensure full compliance with OEM requirements
• Communicate effectively with internal teams (workshop, parts, warranty, operations)
• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and development conversations
• Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations, transport legislation, and company procedures

Work Patterns:

Monday-Friday. Day time hours (08:00-16:00)

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

• Previous experience in an automotive or bodyshop repair environment, with a strong understanding of repair methods and processes is essential
• Experience in roles such as Workshop Controller / Manager , Transport Supervisor, Operations Manager (supervisory or leadership roles), or similar is highly desirable
• Relevant qualification in Motor Vehicle Technology, Body Repair, Paint, or a similar discipline (e.g. City & Guilds or equivalent) would be desirable
• Good stakeholder management and customer management skills
• Excellent communication skills - Verbal and written
• Experience working in a fast paced, changing environment with the ability to meet operational demands, service level agreements, and standard operating procedures while consistently delivering compliant, high-quality work
• Good understanding of parts ordering processes and stock control
  
• Full driving license is essential
