Job summary

A leading marine services company in the UK is seeking an experienced individual to repair and maintain narrow boats, including the Shared Ownership fleet. Ideal candidates will have skills in carpentry and boat fitting, with some engineering and plumbing responsibilities. This full-time position requires on-call work and a Saturday rota. Successful applicants will be contacted for further discussions. Overtime may be available based on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of bench joinery experience is required.
• Experience in boat, horse box or camper van fittings is essential.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain narrow boats including the Shared Ownership fleet.
• Undertake warranty work on new builds.
• Perform carpentry and plumbing tasks as required.

Job description

JOB PURPOSE

To repair and maintain narrow boats including the Shared Ownership fleet and undertake warranty work as required. Fitting out new boats.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Looking for people with boat, horse box or camper van fitting experience
• Carpentry/bench joinery skills a must
• Repair and maintain canal boats
• Some engineering and plumbing work will be required. (Full training will be given for this)
• Shared Ownership boat turn-arounds including pump-outs and diesel
• Warranty work on new builds
• Some ordering
• Off-site work will be required with one, two week period of remote work per year
• On-call work and a Saturday rota will be required
