Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a BMS Service Engineer to service and optimise building management systems across a diverse client portfolio in the Central Belt of Scotland. This mobile role offers independent yet collaborative work, focusing on system performance, diagnostics and upgrades.

You will install, configure and commission controllers, maintain documentation, and contribute to OpenBlue cloud-enabled solutions while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Min 3 years' experience within BMS, Building Controls or Automation.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in a customer-facing service environment.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work independently and participate in an out-of-hours callout rota.
• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (desirable).
• Experience with Johnson Controls Metasys systems (advantageous).

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on BMS and control systems.
• Diagnosing faults and resolving technical issues efficiently.
• Configuring and commissioning controllers and network-level devices.
• Modifying software and maintaining accurate system documentation.
• Producing service reports and recommendations.

• Supporting upgrade and lifecycle projects.

We're looking for an experienced BMS Service Engineer to join our growing team. This field-based role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse customer portfolio while supporting critical building control systems and developing your career with a global leader in smart building technology.

The Role

As a BMS Service Engineer, you'll be the trusted technical expert for our customers, delivering service excellence and ensuring systems operate at peak performance. Working independently and as part of a wider team, you'll support service delivery, system optimisation and future upgrade opportunities.

This is a mobile role, predominantly around Glasgow.
