Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott Exeter Sandy Park is seeking an experienced Bistro & Events Manager to lead our 3rd floor space, which hosts conferences and events and a casual dining offering, Kitchen & Bistro, while delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining Marriott brand standards.

You will manage daily operations, coordinate with sales for events, and work with the kitchen to develop menus, manage allergens, and enhance guest offerings.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food & beverage and conference & events management.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the Bistro and conference spaces.
• Liaise with sales teams to ensure all event requirements and service expectations are met.
• Work with the kitchen team to develop menus and maintain allergen information.
• Ensure consistent delivery of Marriott brand standards.
• Lead and coach the team, managing staffing and performance.

We are looking for an experienced Bistro & Events Manager to lead our operations within our 3rd Floor Space, which hosts conferences and events and a casual dining offering ‘Kitchen & Bistro’ whilst delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining Marriott Courtyard brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the Bistro and conference spaces,
• Liaise with the sales teams to ensure all event requirements, dietary needs, and service expectations are met.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to develop menus, maintain allergen information, and continuously enhance the guest offering.
• Ensure consistent delivery of excellent service and Marriott brand standards.
• Lead, coach, develop, and inspire the team, creating a positive and engaged working culture.
• Manage staffing, training, performance, and succession planning.
• Monitor costs, stock control, and departmental performance to support business objectives.
• Takes ownership of a guest complaints & problem until it is resolved

About You

• Proven experience in food & beverage and conference & events management.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• A hands‑on approach with a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
• Sound understanding of food safety, dietary requirements, and allergen management.
• Strong computer skills with experience of purchase ordering system such as purchase warrior
• Financial understanding creating schedules based on needs for the business
• Knowledge of scheduling and payroll systems such as Fourth
