Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a senior Electrical Engineer in Building Services for major construction projects in Birmingham. This contract role offers variety and a hybrid office presence (1 day in the office per week).

Deliver electrical design, collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams, coordinate BIM/Revit workflows, and mentor junior engineers. Inside IR35 rate up to £55 per hour, duration 12 months plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering required.
• CIBSE or IET membership or working towards Chartership.
• Experience in building services design (HVAC / MEP).
• Experience delivering medium to large-scale projects.
• Knowledge of BIM, Revit and design coordination.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Work closely with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate designs across disciplines (M&E, BIM, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and quality procedures.
• Support cost planning, estimates, and pre-construction activities.
• Contribute to innovative and sustainable design solutions.
• Support and mentor junior engineers where required.

You could work for a leading Building Services contractor, with a national presence with the following details; Location: Birmingham (1x a week in the office) Rate: Up to £55 per hour (Inside IR35) Duration: 12 months +
