Job summary

Berkeley Scott are recruiting a Chef Manager to support a school kitchen in Birmingham. The role offers an immediate start with a competitive hourly rate and weekly pay, in a school-based environment.

As Chef Manager you will oversee daily operations, ensure high standards of food and service, lead kitchen staff and maintain hygiene and safety compliance while coordinating stock and orders.

Qualifications

• Experience as Chef Manager or senior catering role.
• Experience in school/education setting is desirable.
• DBS required and 2 references.
• Food Safety Level 2 certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Food Allergen certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety.

Berkeley Scott are currently recruiting for an experienced Chef Manager to join a school catering team in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced catering professional looking for an immediate start.

What you will be doing

As a Chef Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day running of the school kitchen and ensuring a high standard of food and service.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and serving high-quality meals
• Managing the day-to-day kitchen operation
• Leading and supporting kitchen staff
• Maintaining food hygiene and health & safety standards
• Managing stock and food orders
• Ensuring meals are prepared to the required standards
• Creating a positive and professional environment for pupils and staff

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Chef Manager or in a similar senior catering role
• Experience within a school or education setting is desirable
• Enhanced DBS required
• 2 references required
• Food Safety Level 2 certificate required (or willingness to obtain)
• Food Allergen certificate required (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety
• Good organisational and communication skills
• Ability to lead a team and work effectively under pressure
• Right to work in the UK
