Job summary

The Wales Cancer Biobank, based within the School of Medicine at Cardiff University, invites applications for a full-time Technician to support the collation and issuing of breast cancer biosamples from the University Hospital of Wales.

The post requires careful handling of tissue and blood samples, good laboratory skills, and the ability to work independently to deadlines, with accurate data entry and clear communication with pathology departments and Biobank teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with handling and processing human tissue and blood samples.
• Good laboratory skills and ability to work unsupervised.
• Accurate data entry and attention to detail.
• Able to liaise with hospital pathology departments and Biobank teams.

Responsibilities

• Support collation and issuing of breast cancer biosamples to the Breast Cancer Now Biobank.
• Handle and process human tissue and blood samples.
• Maintain accurate data entry and records.
