Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd is seeking a Band 6 Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join Swansea Bay University Health Board's Histopathology service. The role requires HCPC registration and proven histopathology experience in a locum capacity.

The post involves microtomy, embedding, immunohistochemistry, and special stains, with access to health and wellbeing support, holiday pay and pension schemes. You will work within a multidisciplinary team at Swansea's hospitals.

About you

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join the Histopathology service within Swansea Bay University Health Board. You will be a motivated and competent HCPC‑registered BMS with proven experience across core histopathology techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake microtomy, embedding, and routine histological preparation.
• Carry out quality control procedures and maintain high laboratory standards.
• Perform immunohistochemistry using automated platforms.
• Undertake special stains (manual and automated).

Requirements

HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Full UK right to work.
