Permanent, Full time, 37 hours a week + occasional management standby

Location: Hybrid - home, main offices, and 10 Water Recycling Centres across the region as required

Water Recycling is at the heart of our operations. The key services that we are responsible for are delivered by our in-house, highly skilled workforce. We collect and treat the water that customers have used, returning it to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. Our network includes 76,000 kilometres of sewers which feed over 1,000 water recycling centres. Would you like to be part of a team responsible for the safe and sustainable operation and maintenance of our water recycling assets?

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of an annual production plan and its effectiveness across our Renewable Energy and Water Recycling Centres in the Anglian Water region. You will enable our site teams to operate at the highest standards of safety and achieve environmental goals.

In this role, you will work closely with site teams to achieve 24/7 operation at the 10 largest Water Recycling Centres in Anglian Water, meeting all safety standards and environmental permits, while ensuring process is not compromised by renewable energy delivery. You will oversee Regulatory compliance (IED, iGAS, BG01) through leadership of your three Technical Managers and will be the owner of our Risk Visualisation and Management Toolkits.

This role is crucial to our mission of protecting the environment through wastewater treatment and producing renewable energy and high-quality bioresource products. These efforts support our goals for Circular Economy, Sustainability, and Net Zero. We seek a dynamic leader with excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with various teams.

Duties will include:

  • Enable daily delivery of effective water recycling operations at our 10 largest Water Recycling Centres by adhering to safety and regulatory permits
  • Manage the interface between wastewater and sludge treatment, maximising throughput, gas, and power output at our 10 Sludge Treatment Centres
  • Proactively manage compliance to meet the Environmental Performance Assessment 4-star status
  • Support operational teams to achieve sustainable energy generation from our STC assets
  • Drive continuous improvement at our 10 largest STC/WRAs to meet AMP7 and AMP8 efficiency targets using LEAN and Six Sigma where appropriate
  • Support Bioresources Operations Managers, Maintenance Managers, and Technical Managers to enhance team performance, ensuring adequate resource levels

What does it take to be a Bioresources Delivery Manager?

  • Experience in wastewater and sludge treatment operations or maintenance at a management level
  • Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH, Process Safety)
  • Experience managing incidents and leading teams of leaders and technical experts
  • Financial decision-making and budget management experience
  • Technical knowledge of advanced digestion processes (e.g., Cambi, HPH) and sludge/wastewater treatment technologies

As a valued employee, you’ll be entitled to:

  • Personal private healthcare
  • Life cover – 8x annual salary paid to dependents
  • 26 days annual leave, increasing with service, plus bank holidays, with options to swap holidays for those celebrated by your religion
  • Flexible working depending on your role
  • Competitive pension scheme – Anglian Water doubles your contributions up to 6%
  • Flexible benefits supporting your wellbeing and lifestyle
