Job summary

Integrated Pathology Partnership is seeking a Biomedical Scientist Team Manager in Taunton. The role leads a team within the Infectious Sciences laboratory, driving quality and service improvements while overseeing mentorship and training activities.

Based in a busy, ISO15189 UKAS accredited laboratory, you will rotate across areas including Bacteriology, Parasitology, Virology, Molecular and Mycology, and participate in on-call rosters to ensure continuous coverage.

Qualifications

• Strong quality management experience and a proven ability to drive continuous improvement within laboratory quality systems and processes.
• Ability to identify opportunities for service improvement and support patient care.
• Excellent organisational and IT skills and ability to work independently on on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Biomedical Scientists and support staff.
• Rotate within Infectious Sciences laboratory areas including Bacteriology, Parasitology, Virology, Molecular and Mycology.
• Chair committees (Health & Safety, Training, Audit) and provide on-call management cover.
• Contribute to teaching, mentoring and operational management and participate in clinical trials and validation work.
