Billing Supervisor - Bristol (Hybrid)

Core3 are delighted to partner with a leading professional services business to recruit a Billing Supervisor opportunity based in central Bristol. £35,000-£40,000 plus benefits and hybrid working.

This is an opportunity to join a prestigious professional services firm with a reputation for excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You'll be part of a finance team that plays a crucial role in supporting both the business and its clients, with a strong emphasis on process improvement and development.

Working within a wider revenue and billing team, you'll have the autonomy to lead a small team, drive improvements, and play a vital role in delivering a high-quality billing function during a time of positive change for the department. It's a people-first culture that embraces development, flexibility, and progression.

How you'll make an impact

As Billing Supervisor, your role will be to lead the billing team and ensure timely and compliant billing across the firm. You'll support the wider finance leadership with process improvement and act as the first point of escalation for all things billing.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising a team of billing assistants, including regular 1:1s, training needs analysis, and coaching.
  • Ensuring bills are produced accurately, on time, and in line with VAT and SRA regulations.
  • Managing international billing requirements and supporting complex billing arrangements.
  • Reviewing team performance, managing shared mailboxes, and running regular team meetings.
  • Overseeing charge rate processes, including maintenance of standard and special rates.
  • Supporting the E-Billing function and liaising with the Accounts team on disbursements.
  • Identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements across billing processes.
  • Producing regular and ad-hoc reporting for internal stakeholders.
  • Supporting system testing, updates, and training documentation where needed.

Why our client is excited about you

You're an experienced billing or finance team supervisor who can balance leadership, detail, and diplomacy. You understand what it means to lead a team through change and you're comfortable influencing stakeholders and handling multiple priorities.

Your background might be in legal billing, but equally you could come from another professional services environment - such as credit control or purchase ledger - where you've gained exposure to high-volume, deadline-driven work and team supervision. What matters is your ability to lead, communicate, and deliver.

  • Experience supervising a billing, accounts, or finance support team in a professional services environment.
  • Comfortable working in a regulated environment with exposure to VAT or SRA rules.
  • High attention to detail and confident working with Excel (VLOOKUPs, PivotTables etc).
  • Proactive, calm under pressure, and used to working with a variety of personalities.
  • International billing or e-billing platform experience is highly desirable.
