Job summary

VolkerLaser Worcester is seeking an experienced Bid Writer or Bid Manager to oversee the full bid lifecycle for high-profile structural projects across the UK. You will develop tender responses, case studies and supporting documents with input from operations, commercial and technical teams.

Qualifications

• Strong bid writing and management experience with attention to detail - ideally a minimum 4 years' experience as a Bid Writer or Bid Manager
• Advanced writing ability with a focus on shaping high-quality responses and supporting content
• Highly organised, able to collaborate, influence and manage multiple deadlines and workloads
• A strong sense of ownership, accountability and commitment to compliance
• Confident using Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end bid delivery ensuring full compliance and governance
• Run kick-offs and progress meetings, coordinate review stages, and ensure actions are completed to quality standards
• Plan and manage bid programmes, milestones, dependencies and deliverables across multiple bids
• Develop bid strategies, win themes and response plans aligned to client priorities and scoring criteria
• Write clear, tailored bid content and collate supporting evidence
• Research, co‑ordinate and gather information from subject matter experts to support technical requirements and enhance written responses
• Produce project case studies, team CVs and technical content for bids.
• Ensure consistent messaging, tone and terminology across all bid content
• Handle portal queries, clarifications and document uploads
• Arrange bid reviews and strengthen content based on feedback
• Manage time effectively to meet review and submission deadlines
• Contribute to lessons‑learned reviews and continuous improvement
• Proofread and format bid content to ensure accuracy and quality
