Job summary

VolkerLaser is seeking an experienced Bid Writer/Bid Manager to manage the full bid lifecycle for high-profile structural projects across the UK. You will develop tender responses, case studies and supporting documentation, collaborating with operational, commercial and technical teams to showcase expertise.

The role suits an established Bid Writer looking to progress or a Bid Manager seeking a new challenge, with strong communication, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple

Qualifications

• Strong bid writing and management experience with excellent attention to detail - ideally a minimum 4 years' experience as a Bid Writer or Bid Manager
• Advanced writing ability with a focus on shaping high-quality responses and supporting content
• Highly organised, able to collaborate, influence and manage multiple deadlines and workloads
• A strong sense of ownership, accountability and commitment to compliance
• Confident using Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end bid delivery ensuring full compliance and governance
• Run kick-offs and progress meetings, coordinate review stages, and ensure actions are completed to quality standards
• Plan and manage bid programmes, milestones, dependencies and deliverables across multiple bids
• Develop bid strategies, win themes and response plans aligned to client priorities and scoring criteria
• Write clear, tailored bid content and collate supporting evidence
• Research, co-ordinate and gather information from subject matter experts to support technical requirements and enhance written responses
• Produce project case studies, team CVs and technical content for bids
• Ensure consistent messaging, tone and terminology across all bid content
• Handle portal queries, clarifications and document uploads
• Arrange bid reviews and strengthen content based on feedback
• Manage time effectively to meet review and submission deadlines
• Contribute to lessons-learned reviews and continuous improvement
• Proofread and format bid content to ensure accuracy and quality
