Job summary

A leading insurance firm in the UK is seeking a BI Developer to design and build dashboards and reports using Qlik, Business Objects, and Power BI. Responsibilities include optimizing BI processes and supporting self-service data visualization. The ideal candidate has strong experience with relational databases and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience with relational databases, data architecture, data modelling, and data warehouse concepts.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Business Objects, Qlik Sense, Power BI, SQL, Python, R, or VBA.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Great communication skills – able to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

Job description

Overview

Join Aviva as a BI Developer in the Bristol area. You’ll design and build dashboards and reports using Qlik, Business Objects, and Power BI, optimise BI processes, and support business self-service through effective data visualisation. You’ll be part of the Finance Technology Platform within CIO Group Functions – a team at the heart of Aviva’s Finance Transformation. We’re responsible for moving and transforming data into a central repository, enabling accurate regulatory reporting and supporting both operational and analytical functions.



Responsibilities


  • Design and build dashboards and reports using Qlik, Business Objects, and Power BI.

  • Help optimise BI processes, collaborate with stakeholders, and support business self-service through effective data visualisation.



Skills and experience


  • Strong experience with relational databases, data architecture, data modelling, and data warehouse concepts

  • Hands-on knowledge of tools and languages like Business Objects, Qlik Sense, Power BI, SQL, Python, R, or VBA

  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills

  • Great communication skills – able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audience



What you’ll get for this role


  • Salary Circa £50000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)

  • Bonus opportunity - 10% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
