Job summary

University of East London is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to support the transition from the legacy Student Records System to the New SRS. You will rebuild reports and ensure data accuracy across systems during the 18-month fixed-term project.

You will work hands-on with Power BI, SQL and data modeling to maintain reporting continuity, validate outputs, and document mappings. Strong communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience using Power BI, SQL or comparable analytical tools.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, data modelling and transformation.
• Experience investigating data quality issues and reconciling reporting outputs.
• Ability to understand existing business logic and reproduce accurate reporting results.
• Clear communication skills when working with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• A structured, methodical approach to problem-solving and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Analyse complex datasets and understand existing reporting definitions, calculations and business logic.
• Explore, join and transform data from legacy and new SRS environments.
• Redevelop reports, dashboards and analytical models using Power BI, SQL and other appropriate tools.
• Reconcile reporting outputs across systems, investigate discrepancies and validate results.
• Document data mappings, transformations and reporting logic.
• Work with technical teams and business stakeholders to maintain reporting continuity.
