Job summary

University of East London is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to support the transition of student data reporting to a new system. You will analyse existing reporting structures, rebuild reports and ensure data accuracy across platforms during the transition.

You will bring hands-on expertise with Power BI and SQL, strong data modelling skills and the ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical colleagues.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Power BI, SQL or comparable analytical tools.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, data modelling and transformation.
• Experience investigating data quality issues and reconciling reporting outputs.
• Clear communication skills when working with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• A structured, methodical approach to problem-solving and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Analyse complex datasets and understand existing reporting definitions, calculations and business logic.
• Explore, join and transform data from legacy and new SRS environments.
• Redevelop reports, dashboards and analytical models using Power BI, SQL and other appropriate tools.
• Reconcile reporting outputs across systems, investigate discrepancies and validate results.
• Document data mappings, transformations and reporting logic.
• Work with technical teams and business stakeholders to maintain reporting continuity.
