Job summary

BCP Council invites applications for the Best Start Outreach Worker role within Safeguarding and Early Help. The post is a 37-hour week, fixed-term until 31 October 2027, based across Family Hub sites and other community venues to support babies and children aged 0-5 and their families.

The starting salary is £35,570 (pro rata for part-time) with a defined pay band and opportunities for progression as you grow within the council.

• Experience of working directly with children and families, with strong communication and engagement skills.
• Commitment to reducing inequalities and helping families access services.

Responsibilities

• Lead outreach activities across Family Hub sites.
• Conduct home visits and group sessions.
• Provide information, advice and guidance to families.
• Support families to identify needs and navigate available services.
