Job summary

Lancashire County Council is seeking an Outreach Worker for the Best Start in Life Programme. You will deliver group sessions and drop‑in support to children, parents and carers, working across Family Hubs and mobile outreach services to bring services to communities.

You will help design family‑centred programmes that boost early learning, health and wellbeing, while building strong relationships and supporting families to gain confidence and independence.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering or supporting group activities, workshops, or community programmes.
  • Ability to quickly build trust and positive relationships with diverse people.
  • Organised, proactive and adaptable with a collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging group sessions, activities and drop-in support for children, parents and carers.
  • Work across Family Hubs, local community venues and mobile outreach services.
  • Help design and deliver family-centred programmes promoting early learning, health, wellbeing and development.
  • Build positive relationships with families to encourage confidence, resilience and independence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, partners and local organisations to provide effective early help.
  • Identify community needs and help shape services in response to local priorities.
