Job summary

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Registered Midwife to join the Bereavement Service as a Band 6 post with 15 hours dedicated to bereavement specialist work. The role combines clinical maternity care with leadership in bereavement support.

You will collaborate with the existing bereavement team, engage with external agencies, and champion high-quality, compassionate care across diverse populations.

Qualifications

• Registered Midwife with active NMC registration.
• Teaching qualification as defined by the NMC (SLIP) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to women and families across bereavement scenarios (miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death, SIDS, termination).
• Offer emotional support and ensure needs are met with compassionate discussions on bereavement issues.
• Act as bereavement champion and advocate across maternity, gynaecology, and neonatal services.
• Contribute to audits and data reporting to drive service improvement.
