Job summary

Look Ahead is seeking a kind, compassionate Specialist Behavioural Support Worker to join our Learning disabilities Social Care Service in Hertfordshire. The role offers a salary of 29,672.00 per annum and a 40-hour week, with a wide range of benefits and development opportunities.

You will support customers to live active lives, develop living skills, and manage anxieties with Positive Behaviour Support. Driving duties and collaboration with social care teams are key components of the role.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, essential.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with autism/challenging behaviour/learning disabilities.
• Full driving licence and willingness to drive as part of support duties.

Responsibilities

• Support the customer to lead a full and active life and try new things to open opportunities.
• Develop customer’s independent living skills (cooking, shopping, cleaning, decorating).
• Support sensory routines and testing new sensory experiences.
• Help customer communicate wants/needs using person-centred approaches.
• Assist in managing anxieties using Positive Behaviour Support and autism-specific approaches.
• Collate behavioural data and essential paperwork for local management review.
