Job summary

Look Ahead Care & Support is seeking a Specialist Behavioural Support Worker for our Learning Disabilities Social Care Service in Hertfordshire. You will support customers to lead active, meaningful lives using person-centred approaches and Positive Behaviour Support.

The role involves developing independent living skills, supporting sensory experiences, and collaborating with social work, psychology and commissioning teams. Salary £29,672 per year, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with customers with Autism/Challenging Behaviour/learning disabilities.
• Driving licence and willingness to drive as part of support duties.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the customer to lead a full and active life and do things they enjoy, trying new things to open up opportunities.
• Developing the customer's independent living skills and involvement in maintaining their home.
• Supporting the customer in their sensory routine and testing new sensory experiences.
• Helping the customer communicate their wants and needs in a person-centred way.
• Assisting with anxieties using Positive Behaviour Support and Autism-specific approaches.
• Collating behavioural data and essential paperwork for local management review.
• Driving the customer's vehicle to support daily life and activities.
• Engaging with social work, psychology and commissioning teams.
