SEND Teaching Assistant Required - Billingham

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil who displays challenging behaviour at a school in Billingham.

Position Details:
  • Role: SEND Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)
  • Location: Billingham
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
  • Contract: Term-time only
The Role:

You will provide individual support to a pupil with additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop positive relationships, and manage their behaviour effectively within the school environment. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure the pupil receives consistent support throughout the school day.

The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Have experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Be confident managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour support strategies.
  • Be patient, adaptable, and able to build strong, trusting relationships.
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Be committed to supporting the educational and personal development of the pupil.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
